A letter to the family farmer and rancher

Letter to the family farmer graphicDear Family Farmers and Ranchers,This time of year you can’t drive through South Dakota and not think about farming or ranching: The thousands of acres being worked by generations of family farmers and ranchers just like your own, producing countless acres of corn and head of cattle, all for one important reason, to feed us, the American consumer.Although your efforts often go unrecognized, we see that feeding the American consumer is not an easy feat. Even as the days get shorter and the temperatures drop you will still be hard at work, caught in the early hours of the morning breaking ice and checking your cattle. But you don’t do it for the recognition, you spend long hours in the field because you care, you care about your livestock and land, the consumer and stability for rural communities. Without you, family farmers and ranchers, Thanksgiving would be much different, our way of lives as American people would be much different. We thank you, for caring and making sure there’s food on our tables, not only this Thanksgiving but every day of the year.Sincerely,The American Consumer
