Scholarships

The South Dakota Farmers Union, in cooperation with the South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation, takes pride in announcing the availability of scholarships to applicants whose parents are members of South Dakota Farmers Union.

Eligible youth include high school seniors who will be freshmen at a post-secondary institution of higher learning and those currently in their freshman year of school at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to high school seniors in awarding the scholarships. Applicants MUST attend, or plan to attend, an in-state post-secondary college, university or technical school in order to apply for a scholarship. There will be three scholarships in the amount of $1,500 ($500 each) awarded to eligible young people for the year 2017.

South Dakota Farmers Union Foundation Scholarship Application

South Dakota high school seniors seeking funds to attend post-secondary education at a South Dakota college, university, or technical school.Open to Farmers Union Insurance Policyholders, South Dakota Farmers Union Members, Friends of the SDFU Foundation (defined as a contribution of $25 or more during the past year), or a Participant in any South Dakota High School Activities Association (SDHSAA) sanctioned activity.

“How do you hope to impact a Brighter Tomorrow in South Dakota?”

 Amount:
Twenty-five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to be used for tuition.

Completed application form
Copy of high school transcript
Copy of ACT/SAT score or equivalent
Letter of recommendation
Original essay – less than 500 words
Billfold size portrait picture
