Farmers Union Legislative Day at the Capitol Jan. 24
January 20, 2012
South Dakota Farmers Union (SDFU) members from across the state will travel to Pierre Tuesday, Jan. 24, for the organization’s annual Legislative Day. It's a chance for SDFU members to witness the process their lawmakers go through during the legislative session, and it gives them an opportunity to talk with their elected representatives about the issues that are important to them.
“Farmers Union has a long history of standing up for farmers and ranchers at the state Capitol in Pierre,” said SDFU President Doug Sombke. “This year members will be working hard to ensure a brighter future for all South Dakota producers.”
The participants in SDFU Legislative Day will attend committee hearings and meetings, and attend sessions in the House and the Senate. A free lunch will be provided at the South Dakota Education Association (SDEA) building across the street from the Capitol at noon Tuesday.
