SDFU Feeds Hundreds at Beresford Farmers Elevator Co-op Brown Bag

 – By

Over 200 people attended a 'Brown Bag' event held Wednesday, October 20, at the Farmers Elevator Cooperative at Beresford. The event was co-sponsored by South Dakota Farmers Union and the Co-op.

Grilled pork sandwiches, chips and beans were on the menu, and farmers from all over the area flocked to the co-op for the free lunch. Because of the nice weather, many farmers took their lunch to go since they were hard at work finishing up the harvest. Farmers Union Insurance agents Brendon and Brian Hansen and former SDFU Vice President Larry Birgen were on hand to volunteer their time and help serve the lunch.

The next Brown Bag lunch event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 26, at the Rosebud Farmers Union Cooperative at Gregory.
